Microsoft on Tuesday announced the appointment of Anil Bhansali as the new leader of its development centre in India and managing director of Microsoft India (R&D) Private Ltd.
Bhansali is currently general manager of cloud and enterprise engineering teams at the Microsoft India Development Center (MSIDC). He will continue to be based out of Hyderabad. Amit Chatterjee, the current MSIDC leader, is relocating back to the headquarters at Redmond, US.
Bhansali, who has a master’s degree in computer science from Stony Brook University, relocated to India in 2003 as director of the Windows Live Platforms Services Group.
He had headed several engineering efforts at MSIDC before taking over the engineering leadership of the Windows feature engineering group within MSIDC in 2006, a company release stated.
