The Andhra Pradesh government has signed four MoUs with Sumitomo Corporation, including the one for setting up a 4,000-Mw ultra super critical power plant in joint venture with AP Genco in Srikakulam district.
The MoUs were signed during chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to the Sumitomo office on the fourth day of his Japan tour on Thursday, said an official press release.
Another MoU intends to form a joint study team to explore opportunities in the agriculture sector in areas of productivity enhancement and farmer-oriented agriculture by popularising advanced farm mechanisation with high culture technologies.
The government signed a separate MoU on food processing as the company promises to bring global investments into this sector. It also signed an MoU under which Sumitomo would assist, find and secure necessary funds from Japanese agencies for the development of new capital as a world-class smart city.
