Speaking to analysts Suneeta Reddy, managing director, AHEL said, "We have taken organisational restructuring exercise and we will have four regional CEOs for the Southern, Eastern, Central and Northern region."
For southern region Anne Marie Moncure has been appointed as CEO. Moncure was the former Indraprastha Apollo's MD, who later went to China and US to work for other hospital chains.
On AHEL's expansion plans, Reddy said that from fiscal year 2016 to fiscal yea 2018 the hospital would add 2020 beds, which would attract investment to the tune of Rs 2,047.8 crore. Of the total investment AHEL's investment is expected to be Rs 1,993.1 crores. Major chunk would be funded through debt and internal accruals.
During the current fiscal AHEL would end up investing around Rs 500 crore, she added.
Reddy noted that in the last 24 months AHEL added 900 beds across six locations including Vanagaram, Chennai (260 beds), Jayanagar, Bangalore (140 beds), Trichy (200), Nashik (125), Women and Child OMR (Chennai) 60 and Indore (120).
"Focus now is on operationalising the new capacity and growing and consolidating our leadership position in these markets in the next 18- 24 months," she said.

Over the next 12-15 months, AHEL would add 1,300 beds in six locations including Nellore (200 beds), OMR (Chennai) (170), Women & child 60, North Bangalore (180), Chennai Main (30), Navi Mumbai (350), Indore (65) and Vishakapatnam (250).
AHEL would add 715 beds in FY2018 - South Chennai (175 beds), South Mumbai (300) and Patna (240).
The company is also looking at launching single speciality hospitals, both in the smaller towns and the bigger cities. In big cities, plans are to tie up with speciality cancer care providers in major cities to set up facilities. It may be noted that oncology is one of the fast growing healthcare service and lifescience segment in the country.
Technology-assisted home care services launched
Apollo Hospitals Group is planning to launch a technology assisted home care services with the support of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) soon. The hospital network on Monday launched its first digital hospital with almost paperless management system in place in Chennai.
The company has been working with TCS to develop the IT system for the digital hospital for past eight years, said Prathap C Reddy, chairman, Apollo Hospitals. The new hospital, a 150 bed speciality healthcare facility to offer high-end tertiary care across various medical disciplines, has been leased out with an investment of around Rs 100 crores, he said.
"We are working with TCS to come out with a home care services system, under which the time for patients to stay in hospitals could be reduced and we can send nurse to home to assist them on a daily basis. With technology, we can send the health details of the patient from their home to the hospital and get opinion," he said. "This will be ready in another six to eight weeks," he said.
The company currently has a home care service under its subsidiary Unique Home Healthcare Ltd. The subsidiary provides home nursing care services and has over 300 trained nurses who can provide care at home past hospitalisation on a 24X7 basis throughout the year.
