Apollo Hospitals net at Rs 29 crore

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise today posted a net profit of Rs 29.2 crore for the quarter ended March 31, a marginal increase over Rs 29.1 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Total income increased 23 per cent to Rs 488.4 crore, from Rs 396.6 crore, mainly on better utilisation of bed capacity.

For 2009-10, consolidated profit rose 34 per cent to Rs 137.5 crore, compared to Rs 102.4 crore in the previous one. Total income increased 25.9 per cent from Rs 1,635 crore to Rs 2,058.7 crore. The company recommended a dividend of Rs 7 per share for 2009-2010. The company board approved a stock split. Apollo Hospitals said each existing equity share of nominal value of Rs 10 each would be divided into two equity shares of nominal value of Rs 5 each, subject to approval by members.

 

Apollo added 500 beds this year, out of which 250 are operational now. The company is also planning to add over 800 beds in the coming year.
