Apollo Hospitals Q1 net up 13% at Rs 79 cr

Company posted net profit of Rs 69.74 crore for the corresponding period previous fiscal

Healthcare major Apollo Hospitals Enterprise today reported a 13.19% rise in net profit to Rs 78.94 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2013, mainly on account of robust business in all verticals.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 69.74 crore for the corresponding period previous fiscal, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise said in a filing to BSE.

Net sales of the company also rose to Rs 895.04 crore for the quarter under consideration from Rs 777.39 crore for the year ago period, it added.

The private healthcare provider has over 8500 beds across 51 hospitals besides diagnostic clinics, dispensing pharmacies and consultancy services.
 

In another filing to the BSE, the firm said its board has noted the resignation of Shashank Singh as a director consequent to the divestment of entire equity stake held by HSTN Acquisition (FII) Ltd in the company.

Shares of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise today closed at Rs 915.95 per scrip on BSE, down 4.29% from its previous close.
