Apollo Hospitals today said its net profit rose by 61.26% to Rs 47.09 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2011.
The company had a net profit of Rs 29.20 crore in the same period last fiscal, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The company's total income rose to Rs 621.40 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, compared to Rs 482.90 crore in the same period of previous fiscal.
For the year ended March 31, 2011, the company posted a net profit of Rs 181.72 crore, as against Rs 151.97 crore in the last fiscal.
The firm's total income for the year ended March 31, 2011, rose to Rs 2,331.96 crore, compared to Rs 1,825.78 crore in the previous fiscal.
The company's board, which met today, recommended a dividend of Rs 3.75 a share (75%) for the financial year ended 2010-11.

The Chennai-headquartered group's consolidated profit for the year ended March 31, 2011, rose to Rs 183.92 crore, as against Rs 137.57 crore in the last fiscal.
Shares of Apollo Hospitals closed at Rs 485 on the BSE today, up 1% from its previous close.
