Apollo Hospitals, RCap & BPCL Q3 results

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise has posted an increase of 42.12 per cent in net profit at Rs 64.65 crore for the quarter ended December as compared to Rs 45.8 crore for the same period of last year. The total income increased 19 per cent to Rs 715 crore from Rs 601 crore reported during the corresponding period of last year.

RCap Q3 net profit shrinks 43%

Reliance Capital's net profit for the third quarter ended December fell 43 per cent to Rs 60 crore from Rs 106 crore a year ago as higher interest costs and loss incurred by its general insurance arm weighed on the earnings. The interest expenses surged 47 per cent year-on-year to Rs 589 crore. Reliance General Insurance Co reported a loss of Rs 34 crore during the three months primarily on account of strengthening of third party motor claim reserves.

 

BPCL net jumps 17-fold

Higher subsidy from the government helped state-run Bharat Petroleum Corporation post a 17-fold jump in net profit for the third quarter ended December to Rs 3,140 crore. Net profit for the corresponding quarter last year was at Rs 187 crore. Net sales rose 60 per cent to Rs 58,824 crore from Rs 36,666 crore during the corresponding previous quarter. Total income for the quarter increased to Rs 59,263 crore from Rs 36,996 crore.
