Apollo Hospitals to add 3,000 beds in 30 months

Next 2 months to see 2 hospitals in Chennai and 1 in Bangalore move to attract Rs 1480 cr

Addressing the shareholders Pratap C Reddy, executive chairman, Apollo Hospitals said that at present the hospital chain has 8,800 beds and will add another 3,000 beds are in various development stage.

In the next two months, two hospitals will come up in Chennai and one in Bangalore.

"The year 2011-12 was an interesting year for the hospital and going forward one of the key areas will be technology," he said

The company is waiting for 3G and 4G to take the hospital service to home." We want to take the hospital service from hospitals to clinics and then to home".

On the insurance -- Apollo Munich -- he said the company will make profit soon. "Normally a health insurance company takes nine years. We will be done in 5-6 years," said Reddy.

In 2011-12, the company's gross written premium rose to Rs 475.9 crore from Rs 283.5 crore.
