Apollo Tyres net rises by 37%

Apollo Tyres on Wednesday reported 37 per cent jump in the consolidated net profit at Rs 228 crore for the first quarter ended June 30.

It had reported net profit of Rs 166 crore a year ago.

The consolidated total income in the quarter increased 1.8 per cent to Rs 3,247 crore from Rs 3,190 crore a year ago. Overall expenses were Rs 2,919 crore against Rs 2,895 crore a year ago.

Shares were Rs 172 a piece, down seven per cent on the previous close on BSE.
