Apollo White Dental is planning to open six dental spas along with 100 dental care centres in India by end of March 2015. The company is a 70:30 joint venture between Apollo Hospitals Enterprise and medical technology company Trivitron Healthcare. It has opened its sixth and first dental spa in Pune which offers seven star treatment to its patients.
“We are planning to open six spas and expand to 100 clinics in different formats. The total investment for this expansion would be Rs 100 crore. The spa accommodates staff of 20 people including 8 to 10 dental surgeons. These spas are owned by the company and requires an investment of Rs 3.5 crore each. We are planning to open six more spas by end of March 2015”, says V S Venkatsh, CEO, Apollo White Dental.
According Venkatsh , the company has a growth rate of 100 per cent on y-o-y basis and registered a revenue of Rs 32 crore in the last financial year. As per the company announcement, it is expected to expand from the current 30 clinics to 100 clinics in different formats across the country in the next two years. It would set up around six spas, 10-15 studios and 40-50 clinics across India. The JV has so far invested around Rs 30 crore in its operations. the average break-even period for a White centre will be six months.
Recently, Apollo Dental Centre has been rebranded as White dental clinics. The company has launched four formats with a different pricing strategy, including Dental Spa as a super-specialty luxury brand, Dental Studio as the second line after the spa, Dental Clinics as neighbourhood clinics and Dental Express, which would mainly address the beauty aspects of dental care, with instant smile enhancement and teeth-whitening procedures in airports, malls and Apollo hospitals.
