One of the largest integrated township projects in Ahmedabad, Applewoods – promoted by the Sandesh group, has announced the receipt of the 'Development Approval' from the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) on Tuesday.

Having bagged the approval, the integrated township project will now be able to begin construction work at its location on SP Ring Road of Ahmedabad. Spread across an area of over 128 acres, Applewoods comprises a development area of over nine million sq ft. "The receipt of this important approval is the first step towards developing this integrated township that is being termed as a 'world within a world'. Moreover, Applewoods is the first integrated township in Gujarat to receive this clearance," Parthiv Patel, managing director, The Sandesh Ltd.

At a projected investment of Rs 3,000 crore, Applewoods' nine million sq ft wide development area will see around 400 bungalows, 3,500 varied sized apartments and one million sq ft of corporate space. Patel added, "We have also received in-principle approval from the country's leading banks and financial institutions – State Bank of India and HDFC, to name a few, for facilitating loans for property buyers in the Applewoods township."
