Arcelor Mittal HR chief joins Bharti

Bharti Enterprises today announced the appointment of Inder Walia as group director for human resources effective August 6, 2007.

Prior to the appointment, Walia was executive vice president, human resources at Arcelor Mittal, and was also a member of the management committee in the group.

As a group director and member of the management board, Walia's responsibility would be human resources and integration for the Bharti group.

"I am confident Inder will be an effective team member making significant contribution to realise the company's vision," Sunil Bharti Mittal, Bharti Enterprises chairman and Group CEO, said.

Bharti Enterprises is one of India's leading business groups with interests in telecom, agri-business, insurance and retail.
