ArcelorMittal appoints Peter Kukielski in Group Mgmt Board

World's largest steel-maker ArcelorMittal today announced the appointment of Peter Kukielski in the Group Management Board of the company, effective from January 1, 2010.

The company has also appointed Du Toit Philippus F Du Toit, who is the Executive Vice President of ArcelorMittal and Head of Mining Projects and Exploration since November 2008, in Management Committee.

Du Toit will report to Kukielski, who will be responsible for the Group's global mining operations, ArcelorMittal said in a statement.

"I am pleased to welcome him to the Group Management Board and I look forward to his continued contribution to the Company's success. I also welcome Phil to our Management Committee; his inputs towards the ongoing development of our mining activities will be important," ArcelorMittal Chairman and CEO Lakshmi N Mittal said.

 

Kukielski had joined ArcelorMittal in December 2008 as Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Mining.

Prior to joining the company, Kukielski held senior positions in a number of mining companies, like Teck Resources, Noranda/Falconbridge (now Xstrata) and Rio Algom (now BHP Billiton).
