Electrical equipment maker Areva T&D India today said it has bagged an order for equipment for the 765 kV substation of Lanco Infratech at Uttar Pradesh for an undisclosed amount.

In a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange, the company said it has bagged the first private sector 765 kV substation order from Lanco Infratech.

"The 765 kV substation order for Anpara 'C' 1200 Mw thermal power plant is the first such turnkey order awarded by a private developer," Areva T&D Country President and Managing Director Rathin Basu said.

The 765 kV substation switchyard would connect the Anpara 'C' 1200 Mw thermal power plant being developed by Lanco Infratech at Anpara, Uttar Pradesh to the Northern Grid, the filing added.

Further, all the major equipment like circuit breakers, instrument transformers, automation would be produced indigenously in Areva T&D's India plants and the project would be fully commissioned by April 2010, it added.

Shares of Areva T&D settled at Rs 187.90, up 1.46 per cent on the BSE.
