Automotive glass maker Asahi India today said it will invest about Rs 140 crore in expanding its laminated glass capacity up to 5.3 million units per annum within the next one year.
"We are going to ramp-up our laminated glass business for which the company will invest Rs 130-140 crore in the next twelve months," Asahi India Glass, Managing Director and CEO Sanjay Labroo told reporters on the sidelines of the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) summit here.
As a part of its expansion plan, the company will expand the capacity up to 5.3 million units from the existing 3.5 million units per annum, he added.
When asked about the company's revenue target, Labroo said, "We are expecting the total group turnover of Rs 1,700 crore in this fiscal ... In 2009-10 our sales were about Rs 1,450 crore."
Asahi has production facilities across the country including Bawal (Harayana), Roorkee (Uttarakhand), Chennai and Mumbai.
The company manufactures range of automotive safety glass, float glass, architectural processed glass and other glass products.
