Asahi's third plant to come up in Chennai

 The new plant will entail an investment of Rs 50 crore and initially it will have a capacity of over 5 lakh laminated windshields. The investment will be made out of internal accruals, said a press release issued by the company.

 The company has two existing plants, one an automotive glass plant in Rewari in Haryana and the other, a floatglass plant, in Taloja in Maharashtra.

 The combined capacity of the company to manufacture laminated windshields, after its third plant is commissioned by October 2004, will be over 1.70 million. The company
