The information and broadcasting ministry today gave its approval to the Subhash Chandra-promoted ASC Enterprises to start its direct to home (DTH) service in the country.
ASC becomes the first company to receive the government approval to start the DTH operation.
According to sources, the company, which is expected to start its commercial operations of 2 October, will sign the licence agreement with the government soon.

The company, which got its letter of intent for operating the direct to home venture towards the end of July, yesterday submitted a Rs 40 crore bank guarantee.
