Ashapura net shoots up
 
Ashapura Minechem has posted a 168.4 per cent rise in net profit at Rs four crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2004 as against Rs 1.49 crore in the corresponding period of 2003-04. Turnover rose to Rs 149.94 crore (Rs 48.17 crore). The high volume exports and better margins helped to improve bottomline, it said.
 
D-Link profit at Rs 6.86 crore
 
D-Link (India) has reported a marginal increase in its net profit of Rs 6.86 crore in the quarter ended June 20, 2004 compared with Rs 6.81 crore in the corresponding period of last fiscal. Total income was up 20 per cent at Rs 51.51 crore (Rs 42.78 crore).
 
JK Corp in the black
 
Cement manufacturer JK Corp reported a net profit of Rs 9.61 crore during April-June 2004 as compared with a net loss of Rs 8.47 crore during the same quarter of the previous year.
 
Sales during the quarter increased 35.84 per cent at Rs 146.58 crore (Rs 107.91 crore). The company's capacity utilisation during the quarter stood at an all time high of 113 per cent with production of 6.7 lakh tonne.
 
Mirc Electronics net drops
 
Mirc Electronics has reported a 46.2 per cent drop in the first quarter net profit at Rs 4.41 crore against Rs 8.20 crore posted in the April-June 2003-04. Net sales for the reporting quarter rose to Rs 217.61 crore (Rs 175.03 crore).
