Ashok Leyland bags Rs 125 cr vehicle supply order

Hinduja flagship firm Ashok Leyland today said it has received an over Rs 125 crore order from VRL Logistics to supply 600 vehicles, deliveries of which will start in a month.

Under the order, the commercial vehicle maker will supply 500 units of 3123 multi-axle vehicle and 100 units of 12-metre bus, Ashok Leyland said in a statement.

"The order is cumulatively worth in excess of Rs 125 crore, deliveries against which are expected to commence in a month's time," it added.

The company said the 600 vehicles will be inducted into VRL's fleet, 80 per cent of which are Ashok Leyland products. Established in 1976, VRL has a fleet of 2,691 vehicles.

"Our entire business strategy revolves around a deeper understanding of our customers' requirements and pain points to develop transport solutions that best meet their needs," Ashok Leyland Managing Director R Seshasayee said.
