Ashok Leyland today said its net profit jumped over four-fold to Rs 222.66 crore for the quarter ended March 31, over the same period last year.
Net sales of the company rose to Rs 2,941 crore for the quarter ended March 31, from Rs 1,230 crore in the same period last year, Ashok Leyland said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The board of the company proposed a dividend of Rs 1.50 per share, for the year ended March 31, 2010.
For the year ended March 31, the company has posted a net profit of Rs 423.67 crore, a two-fold jump in the same period year-ago.
Shares of Ashok Leyland were trading at Rs 55.15 on BSE, down 1.08 per cent from previous close.
