Hinduja Group flagship firm Ashok Leyland today reported 2.03% decline in its commercial vehicle sales at 7,711 units for January 2011 compared to the same month previous year.
The company had sold 7,871 units in the same month 2010, Ashok Leyland said in a statement.
Domestic sales stood at 6,880 units in January this year as against 7,460 units in the same month previous year, down 7.77%, it added.
Exports, however, increased by over twofold to 831 units in last month compared to 411 units in the year-ago period.
The company also reported a 7.45% dip in total domestic sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles at 6,830 units from 7,380 units in the same month previous year.
