Ashok Leyland sales down 32% in September

The heavy vehicle major had sold 10,620 units during the same month of previous year

Hinduja Group flagship firm Ashok Leyland on Wednesday reported a 31.9 per cent decline in sales at 7,232 units for September.
 
The Chennai-based heavy vehicle major had sold 10,620 units during the same month of previous year, Ashok Leyland said in a filing with the BSE.
 
The company witnessed 38 per cent fall (excluding its small commercial vehicle DOST) in commercial vehicle sales at 4,715 units last month from 7,593 units sold in September, 2012.
 
As for sales of DOST, it declined by 17 per cent at 2,517 units in September 2013 against 3,027 units sold during the year-ago period.
