Ashoka Buildcon (ABL), a Nashik-based BOT (build, operate and transfer) operator for infrastructure projects, has reportedly bagged Rs 1,396 crores six-lane project from National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). With this project, the company’s balance order book has reached Rs 4,400 crores.
“The company, which was already emerged as the Preferred Bidder for this six-lane project during the Bid Opening meet of NHAI on Friday (Feb 18, 2011), has finally bagged 111.4 km-long six-lane project worth Rs 1,396 crores, from Dhankunj to Kharagpur section on NH-6 in West Bengal. With this project, the company’s balance order book has reached Rs 4,400 crore,” the sources close to the development, told Business Standard.
The project is on DBOT (Design, Build, Operate and Transfer) Toll basis with the concession period of 25 years, including construction period of 30 months. With this project, the company will have a profile of 27 BOT projects across the country.
It has presently an experience of constructing 3,500 lane kilometres.
ABL is the major BOT operator in infrastructure projects like roads & highways. The core strength of the ABL is BOT-based projects, Engineering procurement & Construction (EPC) and Ready Mix Concrete production.
It builds a highway projects based on BOT-basis and run it for a specific period before transferring it to a government agency.
