Ashoka Buildcon gets Rs 1,018 cr order from MSEDCL

Nashik-based Ashoka Buildcon Ltd (ABL), a mid-sized BOT (Build-operate & transfer) operator for infrastructure projects, has bagged the power transmission project worth Rs. 1,018.84 crore from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd (MSEDCL).

ABL is the major BOT operator in infrastructure projects like roads & highways. The core strength of the ABL is BOT (Build, operate & transfer) based projects, Engineering procurement & Construction (EPC) and Ready Mix Concrete production. It builds a highway projects based on BOT-basis and run it for a specific period before transferring it to a government agency.

MSEDCL has decided to upgrade power transmission network across Maharashtra and its outlay is estimated at over Rs. 10,000 crore. This project is being implemented in all 11 zones of MSEDCL across Maharashtra.

Ashoka Buildcon has bagged Rs. 1018.84 crore power transmission project from MSEDCL. This project is a part of MSEDCLs decision to upgrade its distribution network and will be completed in the next two years in MSEDCL’s Nashik and Aurangabad divisions, the company sources said.

The power transmission project involves construction activities in MSEDCL’s Nashik and Aurangabad divisions, which includes construction of 72 new Sub-stations, augmentations/enhancement of existing 128 Substations, construction of 33 KV Overhead Lines (973 Kilometers’), construction of 11 KV Overhead Lines (5,600 kilometers’) and construction of 7,200 new Distribution Transformers, sources said.

ABL registered a turn over of Rs. 700 crore in FY 2008-09 and has current order book of Rs. 3,000 crore.
