Nashik-based Ashoka Group is planning to set up an intenational-level university near Nashik at an investment of Rs. 1,000 cr.
“We are planning to set up an international-level university at Igatpuri, (40 kms from Nashik) at a total investment of Rs. 1,000 crore by the year 2013,” Ashok Kataria, Chairman, Ashoka Group, said at a press conference, here.
Ashoka Group is developing this university on 1,000 acres at Igatpuri. Educational complex will be built on 500 acres, while residential complex will be built the rest of 500 acres.
The faculties, which this proposed university will run, includes engineering with all major streams, bio-technology, management, IT, architecture and environment.
Ashoka Group’s major focus is on construction business under its subsidiary- Ashoka Buildcon Ltd (ABL). ABL, which is an unlisted company, is the major BOT-operator in infrastructure projects like roads & highways. The company (ABL) builds a highway projects on BOT-basis and runs it for a specific period before transferring it to a government agency.
