Assam Company net profit up 76.2%

Assam Company India Ltd, which is engaged in diverse sectors like tea plantation, oil and gas exploration and production and infrastructure, has posted a 76.2 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 35.54 crore as compared to Rs 20.17 crore last year. Its operational income rose 0.5 per cent to Rs 227.77 crore, as compared to Rs 226.17 crore during the calender year 2009.

Meanwhile, the company’s net profit for the fourth quarter ended on December 31 saw a 474.4 per cent to Rs 10.97 crore against Rs 1.91 crore during same period in 2009.

The total operational revenues increased by 1.7% to Rs 95.95 crore from Rs 94.31 crore during Q4 last year.
