Atlas Copco to expand product range in C&M segment

Atlas Copco (India) Ltd, a subsidiary of Atlas Copco AB (headquartered in Sweden), is planning to expand the product range in Construction & Mining (C&M) segment. The company has registered 11 per cent rise in sales turn over during the calendar financial year 2009 (Jan-December) as compared to that of last year.

The company operates in three key business areas; air & gas compressors, construction & mining and industrial tools & assembly systems. The company has three facilities located in Pune, Nashik and Hyderabad.

The company’s air & gas compressor plant is located in Pune, while construction & mining (C&M) plant is located in Nashik. Out of company’s total turn over, around 50 per cent turn over come from Air & Gas Compressor business and 35 per cent from construction & mining, while rest of the business come from Industrial tools and other products.

 

“Atlas Copco (India) has completely restructured its Nashik facility in the last four-five years and now it is ready to take its advantage. With an aim to expand its product range, the company is in the process of finalizing product development plans in C&M segment for the next five years. The products, which are currently being manufactured in Atlas Copco group’s plants in Japan, will be manufactured here in Nashik facility,” the company sources told Business Standard, but avoided to divulge more details.
