Three-wheeler manufacturer Atul Auto today said it has clocked a 92 per cent growth at 1,728 units in August as against 901 units in the year-ago period.
Atul Auto's Director Vijay Kedia said: "There is a lot of potential in the 3-wheeler market in India and we will reach another 7 to 8 states in the next two years. At the same time we are exploring our strengths to increase manufacturing capacity of 3-wheelers also."
"We have already shown an interest in buying Scooters India, which will help us explore the north Indian market," he said.
Last week, Kedia had said Atul Auto is interested in acquiring about 51 per cent stake in the Lucknow-based company Scooters India.
"We are interested in acquiring a majority stake in Scooters India. We will not go ahead with the deal if the government sells us less than 51 per cent stake," he said.
