Atul Polyplast, a subsidiary of the Agra-based Rs 250 crore Atul group of companies, entered the domestic appliances market last week with the launch of its room cooler range developed by the company in technical collaboration with Reliance Industries Ltd.

Saying that the new Atul cooler range was the first cooler using the advanced "evaporative cooling system" developed by the company with the help of Reliance Industries Ltd, Sanjeev Mittal, Director, Atul Group added that the technology for the coolers had been specially developed to prevent the rise in humidity that was the inherent problem of all room and swamp coolers.

As a result, the cooler provided the comfort of an air-conditioner even in high temperatures.

He said the coolers had been developed according to the latest BIS standards to consume optimum electricity, the LLDP plastic body of the cooler also made it the longest running cooler in its category, with an operational life of 10 years.

Being completely sealed, the water tank of the coolers did not provide shelter to mosquitoes that usually bred inside cooler tanks in urban areas.

The company was also planning two bigger sizes in coolers besides other domestic electrical appliances.
