Atul will manufacture the specialty chemical-based on phosgene chemistry and DSM will market it worldwide under their brand. The sales are expected to grow steadily over the next few years and are very promising, said a company press release.
"This is a very important milestone in Atul's quest towards becoming a leading supplier of phosgene-based chemicals. Association with Stamicarbon will certainly boost the sales in a significant way," said Jagdish Shah, executive director, Atul.
Stamicarbon has patented the application of this specialty performance chemical and Atul has established the manufacturing process based on initial guidelines given by Stamicarbon.
He, further added that, DSM has proposed to strengthen the relationship with Atul with more custom synthesis and the development work already starting in 2008.
