The industrial town of Kanpur is hosting the biennial AutoFair 2011 beginning tomorrow.
The two-day event will witness the participation of 56 well-known companies from the automotive, auto parts, lubricant and tyre-tube segments.
AutoFair 2011 has been promoted as a business-to-business and business-to-consumer platform. The participating companies include Tata Motors, Hyundai, Ford, JSA, Birla Tyres, among others.
“In the last edition of the fair, only 38 companies had participated. This year, 56 companies are participating, which indicates the success of the event and the response of the companies,” AutoFair 2011 organising committee official Shiv Sharma told Business Standard.
“AutoFair attracts visitors from all over Uttar Pradesh and is aimed at boosting auto trade and business activities in the region,” he said.
A similar fair could be organised in Lucknow next year.
The organisers of the fair are Guru Nanak Auto Market Association, Auto Parts Dealers Association, UP Petrol Dealers Association, UP Motor Transporters Association and Kanpur Industrial Development Co-op Estate.
