Axis Bank Q2 net up 25% to Rs 920 cr

Private sector lender Axis Bank today recorded 25 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 920.32 crore for this fiscal's second quarter ended September 30.

The bank had a net profit of Rs 735.14 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal, Axis Bank said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The total income of the lender also increased to Rs 6,510.89 crore during the July-September quarter, from Rs 4,657.49 crore over the same period last year.

During the first half of 2011-12, the bank clocked 26 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 1,862.67 crore, compared to Rs 1,477.02 crore in the same period a year ago.

The bank reported a total income of Rs 12,560.16 crore in the first six months, compared to Rs 8,983.86 crore in the previous financial year.
