The Delhi-based beauty and healthcare firm Ayur has firmed up plans to open its Ayur Academy of Natural Beauty (AANB) in the state. |
Talking to Business Standard, Sunil Chawla, hair therapist, Ayur Academy of Natural Beauty, said the company is mulling opening an academy either in Kozhikode or Kochi. |
"We propose to start AANB operations in either of these cities depending on the availability of infrastructure. The AANB in Kerala will start functioning by 2008 on around 3000 sq ft of space," he said. |
He added that the setting up of the academy would involve an expenditure of Rs 10 lakh. |
Ayur, which has the famed Italy Hair Fashion as its foreign counterpart, aims at popularising its effort in skin and hair care among its female clients through the participation of beauty professionals. |
"The AANB in Kerala would be operated through franchisee agreements and the professionals would be trained by Ayur," Chawla said. The AANB will offer beauty care and hair grooming classes and would aim at popularising its style in the field. |
The company has, in the meantime, kicked off efforts to popularise its aroma therapy-based Aromaz brand, which it terms as the new ayurvedic concept in the beauty and health care segment. |
Under the auspices of the Aromaz brand, the company is conducting workshops for beauty professionals in various cities of Kerala. |
Chawla said the interactive beauty workshop would have the participation of beauticians from places like Kannur, Kozhikode and Kochi. |
