Bajaj Auto posts 39% Oct sales growth in state

The festive season beginning with Navratri and continuing till Diwali saw a massive demand for Bajaj Auto motorcycles in the state of Gujarat.

The company posted a growth of 39 per cent for the month of October as compared to same period last year.

Bajaj Auto sold 29,588 units of motorcycles in the state consisting of 5161 units of Pulsars and 18,258 units of Discovers. Sales of the rest 6600-odd comprised Bajaj's Platina model.

"Gujarat is a very important market for us at Bajaj Auto. In the last years the market has grown from strength to strength. Looking at this trend of growth in the state we ensure to continue offering products with cutting edge technology in coming times. The success of Brand Bajaj goes to its distinctive products, its customers and most importantly its dealers," said Vimal Sumbly, DGM – Marketing and Sales, Bajaj Auto.

 

As compared to the previous month, while October saw sales of close to 30,000 units in Gujarat, September witnessed mere 18,000 Bajaj Auto motorcycles being sold this year. However, in Gujarat, the company holds close to 50 per cent market share in the sports bike segment.

"The industry looks robust and we are confident that our growth rate will maintain the momentum. In Gujarat, the recently launched 125 cc bike has received good response leading to a commuter deluxe segment share of 23-24 per cent for Bajaj Auto," Sumbly added. Bajaj Auto enjoys an overall market share of 29 per cent in Gujarat.

Meanwhile, the western region that consists of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh for the company grew by a massive 41 per cent with a phenomenal sale of 1,13,657 motorcycles in just 31 days respectively.
