India's second largest two-wheeler manufacturer posted a 58% rise in net profit at Rs 933 crore for the quarter ended September 30 as against Rs 591 crore posted in the same quarter a year ago.
Income from operations grew 2.26% to Rs 6,098 crore for the reporting quarter as compared to Rs 5,963 crore posted in the same quarter a year ago.
There was only a slight increase in absolute sales at 1,056,596 units as against 1,055,582 units earlier. Despite a dip in domestic demand following stronger competition from Hero and Honda, the company's export markets helped it lift overall sales.
