Bajaj Auto, India’s third-biggest two-wheeler seller, on Monday reported a 22 per cent slide in overall two-wheeler volumes in March at 209,937 units, against 270,578 units sold in the same month last year.
The fall comes on the heel of two launches, Platina and CT100, in January and March, respectively. Rival manufacturers Hero MotoCorp, Honda, and TVS Motor posted growth during the same month.
Three-wheeler sales of Bajaj Auto grew 21 per cent in March at 40,667 units, against 33,739 units sold in the corresponding month the previous year.
After launching the Pulsar RS200 last month, Bajaj Auto will take the covers off another premium bike next Tuesday, and one premium bike every month from May to July.
