The company sold 621,972 of two and three-wheelers during the quarter (January-March '06) as against 480,521 units during the same quarter in '05. |
Motorcycle sales were up 35 per cent at 533,018 units in the quarter compared with 396,144 units during the same quarter last year. Approximately 25 per cent of this were exports. |
For 2005-06, the company sold 25 per cent more vehicles than in 2004-05. |
The total units sold in '05-06 were 22,72,862 against 18,26,798 in '04-05. Exports on year-on-year basis were up 27 per cent. |
Motorcycles accounted for a major part of its sales for the quarter as well as for the entire year. For the entire year, it sold 19,12,224 motorcycles (up 32 per cent) compared with 14,49,710 sold in 2004-05. |
