Automobile manufacturer Bajaj Auto is planning to launch two more models in its Discover brand in near future, completing its target set earlier, to launch six models under the brand.
Speaking to reporters while launching the company's new 100CC bike - the Discover 100M - K Srinivas, president, motorcycle business, said, "We have earlier announced plans to launch six new models in Discover and Discover 100M is our fourth product in that. We will be launching two more Discover models in near future".
The model launched today is into the value segment of the motorcycle segment, which is the largest portion of the mileage segment, which according to the company, is between 100CC to 125 CC. From 150 CC and above, the company consderes the segment as Sports segment, which is catered by the company's Pulsar brand.

The value segment in the mileage bikes in which the new model falls in, has total sales of 3.78 lakh units, around 45% of the total 8.35 lakh overall motorcycle market. The company at present has 20% share in the value segment.
While refusing to reveal the target market share for Discover in India, Srinivas said, "We want Discover to be the number one brand in the country in future".
The company is expecting to bring in 35,000 units of its new Discover 100M motorcycle each in the current month and the next month, into the market, he added.
The ex-showroom price for the Discover 100M model in Chennai is Rs 47,405 for drum variant and Rs 50,461 for the disc variant.
