Bajaj Elec bags Rs 29cr Nagpur airport order

Bajaj Electricals (BEL), today announced that it has received an order worth Rs 29.5 crore for the outdoor illumination of the multi-modal international hub airport coming up in Nagpur through the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC).

MADC is developing a 4000 hectare area at Nagpur bifurcated into airport zone and special economic zone, with road and rail terminals, captive power plants, residential, commercial and educational facilities.

About 50 kms of road network is being laid for which BEL has been selected for providing the complete outdoor illumination and also the operation and maintenance of the entire system for a period of 10 years, a company release said.

Galvanised octagonal street lighting poles and highmast lighting systems including the SCADA system for energy saving, etc, are envisaged to be provided.The entire job is to be completed in a period of 18 months.
