Bajaj Auto is close to tying up with companies and marketing intermediaries in China for selling its three wheelers in the Chinese market.
Bajaj Auto Ltd vice-chairman Madhur Bajaj said chairman Rahul Bajaj's younger son, Sanjeev Bajaj, who is also the company's general manager, corporate finance, is in China for over a week now to tie-up with auto firms and agents.
"We are extremely serious about our China plan and intend to tap the huge market waiting to be exploited with cheap innovative products," Madhur Bajaj said.

Later, he added, Bajaj Auto may also look at expanding the product portfolio to scooters and other two-wheelers.
Speaking about the proposal by technical partner Kawasaki Heavy Industry of Japan for a joint development and manufacturing of Suzuki scooters in India, Bajaj said that since the global alliance between Suzuki and Kawasaki was announced barely a week ago on August 29, it was too premature to discuss such issues.
"Of course, we are looking at new markets. And for this we will have to discuss with overseas companies, especially with those with whom we already have a relationship with. Kawasaki has been our partner for a long time and they are extremely strong in the global markets. But there are no concrete plans on a global alliance yet," Bajaj added.
He, however, said that Bajaj was looking at the Chinese market with keen interest. "We will initially export three-wheelers. After that we will explore the possibility of exporting our scooters in that market," he said. He, however, declined to reveal the names of the companies Bajaj Auto was in discussions with in China.
