Globalisation was inevitable and India should work towards becoming the number one destination for foreign investors, Bajaj Auto Chairman Rahul Bajaj today said.

Speaking at the India Economic Summit 2002 organised by the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Bajaj said there was no question of India being afraid of globalisation.

Bajaj criticised the developed world for double-speak and said the US and the European Union were asking developing nations to open up markets and reduce tariff barriers while retaining subsidies on their agriculture produce and restricting imports of items like steel and textiles.

He urged the developed world to minimise the inequality that existed between the developed and developing countries.
