Bajaj launches new Platina variant in Bihar, Jharkhand

Bajaj Auto today launched a new variant of its Platina in Jharkhand and Bihar with a view to consolidate its position in the 125 cc motorcycle segment.     

The auto major launched the new version of Platina which has Digital Twin Spark- Swirl induction (DTS-Si) technology for better mileage.     

"Our aim is to attract those customers who are eyeing 100 cc motorcycle. We will be providing them with all facilities like mileage and an affordable price in 125cc motorcycle," Sabyasachi Das, regional manager (in-charge of Bihar and Jharkhand) said at the launch of the vehicle here.     

The new variant claims a mileage of 111 km/litre and would be conducive to rural roads unlike the previous variant, he said.     

 

The company hopes to sell 1,500-1,800 units of the vehicle per month in Bihar and Jharkhand, he said and added that the total sales target is of 25,000 vehicles per month across the country.     

The ex-showroom price of Platina, which would come in red, black, grey and blue colours in Bihar and Jharkhand will be Rs 39,000, the company said.     

Platina has a host of features such as self-start, DTS-Si engine, 111 kmpl, maintenance free battery which no other two-wheeler in this segment possesses at a competitive price, Das said.     

Bajaj has a market share of nearly 50 per cent in 125 cc segment which has been achieved due to DTS-Si technology.     

Platina DTS-Si had a nation-wide launch on September 24 in Bangalore.
