Bajaj motorcycle sales jump 78% in Feb

The country's second largest two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto today reported 78.03 per cent jump in motorcycle sales at 2,34,623 units in February.

The company had sold 1,31,785 units in February last year, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL) said in a statement.

BAL attributed growth to robust sales of its Pulsar and Discover range of bikes, it added.

Total two-wheeler sales during the month also jumped by 77.28 per cent to 2,34,710 units compared to 1,32,393 units in the same period a year ago, it said.

BAL's exports went up 53.03 per cent to 77,642 units in February from 50,738 units in February, 2009.

The company reported a rise of 58.81 per cent in three-wheeler sales during February at 33,968 units as against 21,389 units during the same month last year.

Total vehicle sales of the company last month stood at 2,68,678 units compared to 1,53,782 units in the same period a year ago registering a growth of 74.71 per cent, the statement said.
