Sugar producer Balrampur Chini Mills today reported a net loss of Rs 39.44 crore in July-September quarter.
The company had reported a net loss of Rs 78.34 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a filing to the BSE.
The net sales of the one of the country's largest integrated sugar manufacturing companies fell marginally to Rs 502.75 crore in the second quarter as against Rs 508.28 crore in the same period last fiscal.
The Kolkata-based company has sugar factories in Uttar Pradesh with an aggregate cane crushing capacity of 76,500 tonne per day.
Shares of the company today settled at Rs 44.90 on BSE, down by 11.53% from its previous close.
