Banerjee named CEO-designate of ACC

Cement major ACC has appointed Sumit Banerjee as CEO-designate and director on the board effective January 1, 2007.

The appointment comes as incumbent managing director M L Narula is scheduled to retire on March 31, 2007, according to a release issued today.

Banerjee would hold office till December 31, 2011.

The board also appointed Shikha Sharma, managing director and CEO of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company, as an independent director.
