Bayer posts Rs 17 cr loss in Q4

Agrochemical maker Bayer CropScience today announced an unaudited net loss of Rs 17.13 crore for the quarter ended March 31.

The company had posted a net loss of Rs 3.54 crore in the same quarter last year, it said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

However, its net income rose to Rs 236.51 crore in the quarter ended March 2011, as against Rs 229.87 crore in the same period last year.

Bayer CropScience said the audited net profit for the year ended March 2011, shot up to Rs 131.54 crore from Rs 127.25 crore in the previous year.

 

Net income also increased to Rs 2,139.27 crore from Rs 1,724.10 crore in the reviewed period.

The company announced dividend of Rs 4 per share for the year.
