BCPL finalises technology licensers

Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer (BCPL) has finalised technology licensers for polyethylene and polypropylene products, to be produced in its petrochemical plant being set up at Dibrugarh, Assam.

In a release today, the company said that technology for the LLDPE/HDPE swing unit will be procured from UK based INEOS Technology, UK while that for the Polypropylene unit will be bought from Germany based Lummus Technologies.

BCPL is a joint venture company to be set up at a cost of Rs 5,460 crore, and is being promoted by  GAIL with 70 per cent equity participation, while the remaining 30 per cent equity will be shared by Oil India, Numaligarh Refinery Ltd as well as Government of Assam.

 

The petrochemical complex will comprise an Ethylene cracker unit as well as downstream polymer and integrated off-site/utilities plants.
