Belgium firm acquires Chennai-based Cethar Consulting Engineers

CCE is consultancy organisation incorporated in 2005, provides Engineering Consultancy services

Tractebel Engineering, the Belgium based leading international Engineering Consultancy in energy sector, has fully acquired Cethar Consulting Engineers Limited, (CCE), based at Chennai. The acquisition cost estimated to be around Rs 15 crore.

CCE is a consultancy organisation incorporated in the year 2005 and provides Engineering Consultancy services for numerous IPP and captive power plants, both in India and abroad.

Commenting on the acquisition, Sunil Mehra, Chairman & Managing Director of Tractebel Engineering Pvt Ltd said this acquisition makes Tractebel Engineering a key player in Thermal Power sector in India and enhances the portfolio of offerings, which include Gas Pipelines, LNG, Hydro Power and T&D sectors.
 

This acquisition also strengthens our presence in Southern India besides providing additional expertise in engineering for captive and independent power plants.

While the company declined to comment on acquisition cost, source said that the acquisition was done for around Rs 12-15 crore.

Marc Lepièce, Tractebel Engineering’s Executive Vice President and in charge of International Business Development added the business opportunities in the Indian market are immense. This is just another step to tap the potential existing in the Energy market.

"We are on lookout for similar opportunities, which will accelerate our pace of growth in India,” he said.

Cethar Consulting Engineers Limited (CCE) has an employee base of around 110 and will start integrating with Tractebel Engineering over the next few months.
