BEML bags Rs 1,144cr Delhi Metro order

BEML, a PSU under defence ministry, has bagged the global tender for manufacture and supply of 156 standard gauge stainless steel metro cars to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

The order is part of the second phase of construction of Delhi Metro and is valued at Rs 1,144 crore. This is the single largest contract bagged by BEML. The company has formed a consortium with Mitsubishi Electric and Rotem of Korea to execute this contract, a BEML release said.
