BEML bags Rs 800 cr defence order

Bharat Earth Movers (BEML) today announced that the company has received large defence orders valued at Rs 800 crore from the ministry of defence for various ground-support high-mobility vehicles.

According to a release issued by BEML to the BSE today, the vehicles include BEML-Tatra 4x4, 6x6, 8x8 trucks for high mobility applications, heavy recovery vehicles, special purpose vehicles for pinaka/radar project and 50 tonne trailers and engineering mine ploughs for breaching minefields.

The majority of supplies will be made in the financial year 2006-07 and the rest carry-forwarded to the year 2007-08, the release added.
